Founded in the mid-19th century, the Yoshimitsu forge embodies pure Japanese tradition in the creation of Japanese knives. Based in southern Japan, it mainly produces handcrafted knives sold in the Nagasaki region. The five Yoshimitsu brothers preserve ancestral techniques, such as creating steel from iron sand collected by the riverbank, melted in a furnace they built themselves.
Although these methods are now often used for demonstration purposes, the Yoshimitsu brothers have moved with the times. They now incorporate contemporary influences and positive developments into their forging work. Today, their Japanese kitchen knives, available in our knife shop in Paris, are made from special steels, with a white or blue paper steel core.
We are delighted to import these unique knives from the five Yoshimitsu brothers into Europe, offering a wide range of products, from Santoku knives to Nakiri knives, including Petty knives.
