Les Lames de K

After obtaining his literary baccalaureate with an audiovisual cinema option, Wim Werner immersed himself in the world of video editing and photography. He then continued his path by joining the school of fine arts in Clermont-Ferrand.

After three years of study, a long-standing passion resurfaced: forging, ironwork and knifemaking.

With support from Pôle emploi and the AFPI of Thiers, he took the opportunity to complete a four-month adult training course in knife-making.

After obtaining an age-related exemption (he was 27 at the time), he was admitted to the CAP-ICC (Cutting and Surgical Instruments) in September 2010, where he was employed at Therias et l'économe.

Awarded first prize by the Rotary Club in May 2012 and graduating in knife-making CAD in June 2012, he devoted five years of his professional career to Verdier manufacture. During this period, Win Wernier was involved in craft production, as well as in training apprentices and laser technicians.

In March 2021, he decided to settle in Brittany, the region that gave him his nickname: Korrigan. It was this nickname that inspired the name of his business: "Les lames de K".

In his workshop, he set about creating an emblematic local knife. This knife, named "Achab", is a mechanically simplified version of his creation presented at the Rotary competition. The Achab is the result of multiple inspirations, combining elements from sailors’ and boatmen’s knives, as well as features of a small country knife.
