The Florinox folding knife: models, features and choice

The history of Florinox began in 1930, when the cutlery company was founded in the village of Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle, near Thiers. At that time, it focused on marketing pocket knives, following the region’s knife-making tradition. In 1962, Roger Morel decided to take over the company, preserving traditional manufacturing while introducing new knife models.

In the following years, in 1969 and 1972, Daniel and Michel joined their father in this venture. This family collaboration strengthened the company’s momentum. In 1990, as part of an expansion effort, the company moved to an "industrial zone", still located in Saint-Rémy-sur-Durolle, and was renamed Florinox. Under this new name, the company continued to expand its range of knives.

The growth of Florinox has been accompanied by an openness to external collaborations. In partnership with designers or specialist companies, Florinox meets its customers’ specific needs by developing knives suited to various fields of activity.

More recently, succession continued with David succeeding his father Daniel. Building on the heritage and expertise accumulated over the years, David continues to uphold the tradition and excellence that characterise Florinox. To continue your selection: Major brands · Folding knives.
